ACT Test
 
ACT Test is a standardized test conducted for admissions in colleges by Act, Inc. (formerly known as American College Testing Program) in the United States. The ACT is a curriculum-based test unlike other aptitude tests being conducted to judge the eligibility quotient of the students seeking admissions in the colleges. The test assesses what students have actually learned in high school courses, covering English, Mathematics, and Science.
 
Application Procedure
 
Students can register online via www.act.org or can request through mail at ACT Registration, PO Box 414, Iowa City, IA 52243-0414 for Application Forms and ACT Assessment Booklet. The test is usually conducted nationally several times in a year between the months of September and June and is typically attempted by high school juniors and seniors. However, the test dates may differ as it is not always conducted on the same test dates at each test center.
 
Structure of the Test
The ACT Test measures general educational development and ability of high school students to perform work of college level. The multiple-choice tests cover four skill areas: Mathematics, Reading, Science, and English. The optional writing test measures skill in planning and writing a short essay.
 
The ACT test is three hours’ duration test with an interval between the second and third sub-tests. It comprises of 215 questions in total with English (74 questions) spanning 45 minutes, Mathematics (60 questions) spanning 60 minutes, Reading (40 questions) spanning 35 minutes, and Science (40 questions) spanning 35 minutes.
 
Conclusion
