| SAT Reasoning Test, formerly known as Scholastic Aptitude Test and Scholastic Assessment Test, is an internationally recognized admission test for college admissions in the US and US territories, including Puerto Rico. The SAT is owned and developed by a non-profit organization, The College Board, in the US and Educational Testing Service administers the exam. |

| SAT is an objective assessment instrument that is used with GPAs and high school records of the applicants - to measure their college readiness, provide them access to scholarship opportunities, and judge them reasonably. The test is typically attempted by high school juniors and seniors and has been proved one of the best parameters in the selection process of the students. |

| Note: While applying for SAT, the reserved category must contact the College Board for accommodations in accordance to the rules and regulations for approval. |

| Structure of the Exam |
| |
| In the US, the SAT is conducted seven times a year in the months of October, November, December, January, March/April, May, and June. The test is usually held on the first Saturday in the months of November, December, May, and June. Overseas, the SAT is conducted six times in a year, i.e. leaving the spring test date of March/April, on the same dates as in the US. |

| The SAT is three hours and 45 minutes’ duration exam that comprises of ten sections with varying time limitations. Out of ten sections of SAT, three sections test critical reading spanning 70 minutes; three sections test mathematics spanning 70 minutes; three sections test writing spanning 60 minutes; and one variable section tests critical reading, mathematics, or writing spanning 25 minutes. |
