| Texas Higher Education Assessment (THEA) test, an initiative approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, is an assessment instrument used by Texas universities and colleges to evaluate the college-readiness of students, entering institutions of higher education. |

| The THEA test was developed by Evaluation Systems after a rigid review and approval process, which is affirmed by the expertise of Texas educational professionals. These pedagogs confirm the accuracy of the THEA test questions and helps preclude the potential bias. |

| Structure of the Exam |

| The THEA test is conducted in two prescribed formats: |
| |
| The SAT is three hours and 45 minutes’ duration exam that comprises of ten sections with varying time limitations. Out of ten sections of SAT, three sections test critical reading spanning 70 minutes; three sections test mathematics spanning 70 minutes; three sections test writing spanning 60 minutes; and one variable section tests critical reading, mathematics, or writing spanning 25 minutes. |

The THEA paper-and-pencil test is administered five times a year at centers across Texas. |

The THEA Quick Test, same as the THEA paper-and-pencil test, is administered on a flexible schedule at convenient locations across Texas. |

| The THEA test has three sections assessing applicants’ ability in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics. The aim is to measure the students’ academic skills against the standard level of performance at first-year of college. |

| Reading Section has 40 multiple-choice questions against seven reading selections of 300 to 750 words each. |
